Keep score of your favorite baseball and/or softball team in the Baseball Scorebook. It doesn't matter whether your team is in the Minor League or the Majors, keep score and maintain a long-lasting record that you will cherish for years.
When keeping score use the following to designate the players:
Each position is assigned a number. These numbers will be used when you record fielding plays.
Pitcher- 1
Catcher- 2
First Base- 3
Second base- 4
Third base- 5
Shortstop- 6
Left field- 7
Center field- 8
Right field- 9
Designated hitter- DH
When a batter is up, keep track of whether he hit, walked, or struck out with these basic abbreviations:
Strikeout- K
Looking strikeout - backwards K
Walked- BB (base on balls)
Single- 1B
Double- 2B
Tripple- 3B
Homerun- HR
F- flyout
DP- double play
Once you get the basics down, add your own style to keep track of plays and scores. There isn’t a wrong or right way to do it. Find a system that will help you keep track of the progress of a game.
There are enough pages in the book to record 36 games - pages for home and away teams, scoresheet and statistics.
Keeping scores in the Baseball Scorebook is a great way to follow the game and learn basic strategy and then relive the game over and over later on.
